Replace thermal paste and pads based on a Gigabyte RX5700XT Gaming OC (german only)

After some time in use, the thermal paste of graphics cards can dry out and the thermal pads become porous and cracked. As a result, the heat that is emitted to the heat sink can no longer be transferred to the original extent. In the worst case, the graphics card even clocks down and loses potential performance.

Replace thermal paste and pads based on a Gigabyte RX5700XT Gaming OC (german only)

In this guide, I show how you can easily replace the thermal pads and thermal paste on an RX 5700XT from Gigabyte. This works similarly with other graphics cards, but with some you can already lose the warranty by removing the fan. Therefore, it is recommended to take a look at the manual or the manufacturer's website beforehand to see if corresponding information can be found here, often there is also a sticker on one of the screws.
